Professional QualificationsRay co-founded Carroll & Carroll with his father Ernie Carroll in 1984 and has served as president since 2002. He has been a practicing appraiser since 1975. Ray’s practice includes experience in condemnation, general litigation, counseling, easements, land and general commercial properties. He is an expert witness qualified in the local Circuit Courts of Lee and Collier Counties and in Federal Bankruptcy Court.
Ray earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate from Florida Atlantic University in 1975. Ray holds the MAI and SRA designations of the Appraisal Institute and is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker. He is a member of the national, state and local REALTOR® associations and the Appraisal Institute, as well as, a lay member of the Florida Bar Association Grievance Committee. He is past president of the local and regional Appraisal Institute chapters, a past director of the national Appraisal Institute and an instructor of Ethics and Standards.
A graduate of the Leadership Collier Class of 2000, Ray has served in numerous other civic offices over the years as well, including leadership positions for the Naples Airport Authority, Community Blood Center, Liberty Youth Ranch, Committee to Save the Zoo at Naples, Naples Flying Club and Old Timers Reunion. He is past president of the board of directors of Naples Zoo, Inc. He is a recipient of the Ad Miller Award and a member of the Hall of Fame for the Naples Area Board of Realtors and was named one of the 2011 Men of Distinction by the Collier County Education Foundation.
Fun fact! Ray enjoys hunting, boating, camping and storytelling. He is a private pilot and owner/operator of a 1953 swamp buggy named POGO.
